One such amazing movement is the She Colors My Day movement. The She Colors My Day movement began when a mother dying of breast cancer, Annette Tauber, created a music CD of she and her four daughters singing. Anne gifted this music CD to her friend Cristina Carlino, who was so moved that she gave a similar gift to her own daughter. This gift, the song “She Colors My Day", brought music together in harmony with her daughter’s artwork.
The She Colors My Day movement has since taken on a life of its own, bringing mothers and daughters together to help find a cure by singing, coloring, and creating. While She Colors My Day was initially launched as a grass roots initiative, it has become a major contributor to the enhancement of breast cancer awareness and the raising of funds for women’s cancer research. She Colors My Day benefits the Susan G. Komen Foundation for the Cure® and the Entertainment Industry Foundation’s (EIF) Women’s Cancer Research Fund, two monumental organizations working together. The Women’s Cancer Research Fund has helped bring about one of the most ambitious scientific projects today, EIF’s Breast Cancer Biomarker Discovery Project, which strives to find a blood test that will diagnose breast and other women’s cancers in the earliest stages when it can be cured.
In their continuing effort to raise breast cancer awareness, She Colors My Day has created a Pink Crayon App for Facebook. This new Facebook application allows users to pass a crayon and a smile to their Facebook friends. By sharing the pink crayon with your loved ones, you are helping to spread the word about She Colors My Day and their efforts to give a new day to those in need. It’s easy! Visit She Colors My Day on Facebook, add the Pink Crayon App, select between different messages, then choose your friends, and send! To date, the pink crayon has been passed more than 115,000 times.
Coming Soon... She Colors My Day is proud to debut new pink crayons to pass during National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Passing the new ‘thrive’ pink crayon will let you share a link to the free download of my book Fight Now: Eat & Live Proactively Against Breast Cancer with your friends.
